There are some good ideas in this article by Malcolm Levene. CLICK HERE FOR ARTICLE

1. Reject quick fixes and replace them with patience
2. Be generous to others, both in word and deed
3. Think positive thoughts, even when you feel less than positive
4. Be grateful for what you have, rather than focusing on what you don’t have
5. Be prepared to make sacrifices in order to have the life you want
6. Remove prejudices and replace them with learning
7. Offer compassion and empathy to others
8. Be a good listener
9. Remember, giving is the new getting

As Dr Robert Holden, Director/Founder of The Happiness Project, said recently in The Sunday Times: "I think of kindness like an antidepressant”

1. Reflect before you react
2. Focus on what you want people to say about you, not what you don’t want them to say
3. Use your passions, not your emotions to communicate
4. We are what we read. Choose carefully
5. Your image is relevant to your brand. Ask yourself if there’s anything you can do to improve it.
6. Use your assets to enhance your Inner and Outer Brand
7. Treat others as you like to be treated
8. Endeavour to participate in some activity outside of business that will enable you to exude more energy
9. Use your humour as a way of being remembered positively.

Chinese New Year - Year of the Metal Rabbit - 2/3/11-2/4/12

The Tiger is on it's way out. Enter the (very creative, yet very private) Rabbit. The Rabbit promises to bring rest to the weary as well as independence and aloofness. (I'm sure we could all use some time to recharge our batteries.) The year of the Tiger was exhausting for most and this new year of the Rabbit will bring back appreciation for the Arts and should prove to be a more diplomatic and slower paced year as the Rabbit is the ultimate diplomat and peacemaker.

Difference Between Website

http://www.differencebetween.net/miscellaneous/difference-between-taoism-and-buddhism/

The above link explains the difference between Buddhism and Taoism, but there are many more comparisons at http://www.differencebetween.net/

Tao began in China 2,000 years ago and the word Tao means way. The way is the infinite force that flows through all living matter.  The soul is eternal and shifts to another life (reincarnation) until the Taoist goal is completed. The goal is to reach the infinite force by dissociating oneself from earthly diversions and desires and aligning oneself with the natural flow of the universe.  [Sounds a bit like the American Indian to me]

The central concept of Taoist is to achieve the goal of reaching the infinite force by wu wei or without action.  (Action referring to attentive thoughts or feats that are against the natural flow of things).  One must always place their will with nature, as nature is in tune with the natural flow of the universe.

Buddhism began in India 2,500 years ago with the influence of Siddharta Gautama, the 'Enlightened One'. The word Budhi means to awaken. Buddhism is considered a philosophy as well as a religion. It's core values are: Be mindful of thoughts and actions, develop wisdom and understanding and lead a moral life. The goal is to obtain Nirvana which is the enlightenment and ultimate happiness; which can only be reached when all suffering is surpassed.

Buddhism believes in numerous births (reincarnation) until the soul reaches Nirvana, which will end the cycle of birth, death and re-birth.

In Summary:

The Taoist way of life is focused on aligning oneself to the natural way of the cosmos.

The Buddhist believe that Nirvana can be achieved through understanding, surpassing pain and suffering and through leading a moral life.

Both Taoism and Buddhism employ the concept of reincarnation in their set of beliefs.

Clever Little Story About A Famous Icon

Join me in remembering a great icon of the Entertainment Community.
The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast Infection
and trauma Complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.
Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including
Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, The California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jamima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy
as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Born and bread in Minnesota , Doughboy rose quickly in show business,
but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a
very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes.
Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and
was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John
Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is
also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 Minutes.

If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the
occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone
else that may be having a crumby day and kneads a lift .
